Miranda has a diverse background in science, spanning research, environmental consulting, education, and science communication. With degrees in marine biology and journalism, she has worked in various roles, including environmental consultancy, assisting in taxonomy, ichthyology, and microbiology laboratories, curating and caring for wildlife exhibits, writing grants for conservation organizations, and teaching.

Research

Miranda recently received her MSc by Research at Southern Cross University in NSW, Australia. Her research, undertaken at the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) in Townsville, QLD, focused on using assisted evolution to increase the fitness of scleractinian (reef-building) corals.
